Had to settle for silver in doubles today, 3rd set 30-30 and his partner cramped up and had to quit.
94 degrees on court...Frank won singles and will play in the semifinal tomorrow morning...could be

Those things we were stepping on in the ocean, I thought were pine cones, probably were crabs...saw

Good news! With the money from Gayland's estate, the Bay County Humane Society is buying a
building. They will expand programs to "help homeless animals". It is near the US Navy
Ship Edson on the river, by Independence Bridge, on Marquette St. The director Jeanne is very
excited about the gift. She is a retired teacher and all staff are volunteers. They hope to open
before the end of the year and will notify us. A special plaque will be displayed to honor Gayland.

Norfolk Botanical Garden-really enjoyed the walk through these fantastic gardens, beautiful plants
& flowers-roses, crepe myrtle, and butterflies...even saw some critters, and guess who
identified the paw-paws?

Had a nice vacation from tennis today! Drove to cemeteries in NJ then to Phoenixville, Penn.
where Frankie (age 5) and family lived during the war, his pa worked at Valley Forge Hospital. Got
some great shots to show you...in King of Prussia...on to VA...hope you are all safe from the storm.

John D. Rockefeller of NY, Founder Standard Oil & Philanthropist.
Winnie's father, James Dewitt Rockafellow and John D. Rockefeller had the same
3rd Great Grandfather, Johann Peter Rockefeller (1681-1763). Their 2nd Great
Grandfathers, Johann 'Peter' Jr and William were brothers and REV WAR Patriots.
At age 65 Peter provided patriotic service, he paid for pasturing cattle and horses.
Our Patriot William, age 47, served in the NJ Militia.
