Remember Jack & Velma came to our Parks 150th, Jack died last Feb in an auto accident. Velma was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and lives with her daughter Janet in Mt. Pleasant. Janet wrote that her mom enjoyed our Christmas card. Her long term memory is still quite sharp.

We did some skating today. Alissa and Drew even laced them up after for awhile. Zane was quite angry that we didn't have any "skaters" his size.

Read About 21st General Hospital (WWII) on this site. The 21st was one of the largest troop hospitals and one of the most decorated medical units in WWII. GLH served with the unit 1942-43, then was Commander of the 32nd & 151st Station Hospitals in North Africa. He was ordered home June 1944, just before the Normandy Invasion, to Head X-Ray Department at Valley Forge General Hospital, Phoenixville, Penn. Bernice and the boys joined him there. He was honorably discharged with rank of Colonel, Sept 1945 and returned to medical practice in Bay City, Mich.

I think it is on Van Vleet Road, the couple have ten acres and they love to watch the wildlife. So, she gave Dan pictures of what she wanted and he and Kevin built it. The windows are all the way around it. It was a surprise to her husband, luckily he was thrilled.

Happy Thanksgiving. We had a great meal at Joy's house. Jeremy got his dad's OLD go-cart buggy restored and running and all of the kids got a ride. I am putting in the kids' Christmas Wish List because it's a Thanksgiving tradition. Their list is short...they would like a Wii. If that doesn't work I can come up with some individual lists, but I think they would all be ecstatic with that one gift. I hope everyone had a great day. Big night for us on stage tomorrow. Met Frank's 4th cousin and her husband, saw their magnificent designer home...he has shot 81 deer with a bow, is captain of the archery team...we told them you guys were avid deer hunters, he is going deer hunting in New York state this week. Doesn't think much of cross bows, likes the standard ones...we told him about Lew's handcrafted flyrods, will have to tell them about the osage orange bows...have a great day!

Nick's last game of the year was tonight. It was a war between the Morrice Orioles and the Dryden Cardnials. After all the feathers came to rest, it was 22 to 14. The red birds scored first and made a 2 point conversion for a score of 8 to 0. 3 plays later the orange birds came back with their first touchdown. Also making a 2 point conversion the score was even at 8 to 8. Going into halftime it was a tie. The third quarter favored the Orioles with another touchdown and a good 2 point conversion. Making the score 16 to 22 Orioles. Raining like hell, the 4th quarter was a back and forth mud-bath. But with less than a minute to go in the game, the Orioles made an interception and ended the game. This was their first will of the season!

Aunt Geraldine and her very nice friend Tonia sent these shots of their visit to the cemetery in Deerfield Twp, near Howell. They also visited the Cornell Farm where Grandpa Hart lived with his grandson Stanley Cornell. The farm is for sale. I added some 2006 UP shots. We went to a dedication ceremony in Owosso today. The mayor dedicated a bridge that John refurbished with wook planks from trees he had cut and milled. It was a really nice tribute to him and I think that the most important people of the town showed up to honor him. Quite a tear-jerker for John and everyone there but it was a well-deserved honor. Please keep John, Jeremy and the whole family in your prayers.

Joshua auditioned for a part in our community play of "A Christmas Story." Too bad he had to cold read from a script. His stage mom helped him out a bit and fed him the lines. ah well..live and learn. Then I got suckered into reading for the role of Mom. I messed up on a forkhorn this morning. Stalked almost all the way around the back field. As I was comming back up to the house, I jumped him about 40 yards out. He was laying in light cover. Well, it was Michigan School for the Deaf and they haven't played football in 25 years but the Dogs still looked good and Danny got to play a lot. The school had no goal posts or lights. It's a Barnett Revolution. Don't get one like mine. I blew it up yesterday! Ya, like a chicken's wishbone. I had it at 3/4 draw while cocking it. The riser where the 2 limbs and stock come together must have had a bubble in it. The left limb came up and gouged the stock and went flying over my shoulder. The right limb came up and gouged the stock and broke my finger. Barnett gave me an RA# to send it back and are sending me a new one. I'm still in Indiana. I have one more semester of classes in Dayton and then a semester of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) at a hospital in Indy before I graduate in May. I should be moving back to michigan the first of July next year. I just got finished working at the Doctoral intensive which was a big deal this year, we had lots of coverage due to a reality tv star becoming a student. So thats about all thats going on in my life...

The boys had a great time. There was a little "blood trail" even for the kids. They dripped red colored Karo syrup in the woods and told the kids a story about how they were tracking an elk. We followed the trail and they had a little treat for them under an elk hide at the end. Drew and Zane have seen the real thing before so they were really just in it because I told them about the treat at the end. Zane wanted to go home and get his Halloween basket thinking it was going to be a bigger treat I guess.

The news just revealed that that Owendale school will be getting it's own wind turbine this summer. The boys are off fishing this morning, but the sky is gray and only 55 degrees. Lura is setteled in at Caseville, and Friday was the last day of school. Is Kris still in the pulpit this summer? Lew's garden is growing like crazy, he is up to 40 tomato plants! I think I'd better start gathering ideas other than just canning.

Hello from Gator Country! Glad to hear you guys are still kicking...Working on the MSU Club of The Villages Scholarship...seniors are eligible...details as soon as our committee meets. Currently only 187 Spartans from Florida, 82 are undergrads, none from our four target counties-Marion, Lake, Sumter & Citrus. So opening it up for relatives of Villagers...now for the fundraising!

Loved your pictures Brandy! Thought the kids would like Aunt Kate's Treasures. She lived next door and was 'aunt' to Frank and Gayland. There is also a photo of her and her mother in front of their bakery in Bay City.

Poor Josephine. Do you think the kids at school will laugh at her because she will be subjected to her mom's projects? I added some of her new wardrobe...dress minus the zipper and a pair of pants with flair. Also added a picture of Joshua's creation for Grandma.

Thanks Mick, glad you liked the cookies. Frank rolled the dough thicker so they took longer to bake, 15 to 20 minutes. Yield was 6 dozen.
