RIP Gayland. April 8, 2015 - Dec 24, 2015 What a year that was...got the phone call from Caretel,
called Pastor Kris to perform the funeral service, all of you came to the funeral and ate ham and
scalloped potatoes just like Dan predicted on the menu, nice graveside farewell with help of pall
bearers-you guys! And now Bay County Humane Society has a new home on Marquette St, thanks to sales
and sale of the house on Christmas Eve day. He got his wish-helping homeless animals!

Found the missing photo of Kris, Ash & Grandma Lena, Christmas 1986. Mom made Kris' velvet
dress and was waiting to see if she would sew a dress or pants...and then there was Ash! The French
artist's self-portrait that always hung on mom's bedroom wall reminds us that we have a
French 2nd great grandmother, Josephine A. Simons! She arrived with her mother Margaretta 1849,
married Guy Shaw, brother of Maritta Shaw Parks!

The same obit here, black & white pix is not the best...Aunt Mary was a lovely lady with a heart
of gold! Called Margie Rosenthal and Bill had told her about Mary's death. Margie said Kristen
was Pastor at church and did a great job-and had NOTHING written down... She also has 2 woodchucks
in her yard, think Mick could help her out?

Kids are off to Busch Gardens, they should have a blast, and have a few more pix for Josh's
project (video)... Putting turkey legs in the clay cooker along with red potatoes, carrots &
onions... This is our last month down here...glad you are having nice weather for planting in the

Aunt Mary took the bus down for mom's funeral Feb/Mar 2003, 15 hours but she made it...and mom
and I were there for Uncle Don's funeral Feb 2002, icy snowy UP driving...but we made it too!

Shannon called to tell us Aunt Mary died this morning. She will be cremated and her ashes sent to
the Ishpeming FH, a service will be held later, when the ground thaws. I told Shannon we would send
flowers from our family, she will let us know more later. Aunt Gladys will be calling soon...RIP
